"Comprehension is the reason for reading" - (Gunther,2015).
"If readers can read the words but do not understand or connect to what they are reading, they are not really reading. Good readers are both purposeful and active, and have the skills to absorb what they read, analyze it, make sense of it, and make it their own." (Gunther, 2015). Comprehension is the ability to understand. It is the act or action of grasping with the intellect ("Dictionary; Comprehension", 2015). Comprehension make students balance multiple things. Students need to critically think, make connections, get sense of the text, and know how to get the most out of it to understand the content of it (Gunther, 2015). Reading is something that improves only through practice. Students who lack comprehension skills affect many things. They can not progress through school without knowing how to understand, analyze, and apply the information throughout their reading. However, it students who do not have the comprehension skills can also be in danger of other world problems after school. Read the interesting facts below to learn more (Charles & Charles, 2015).
